(This week’s challenge follows the ideas Step presented in his article, Make the Most of Your Life.)
We can get stuck in thinking, “this is good enough for me,” or “I am this way, so I will always be this way”.
You don’t have to be one way or the other; you can change your beliefs.
Let us start out easy. What do you believe you will do tonight at home? How about this weekend? How about you picture something happening that you wouldn’t ordinarily do, and do that this weekend to give yourself the confidence that you can change, that you can do or be something else.
If you can you change your belief about yourself in the short run, why not change your belief about yourself in the long run?
Who would you like to be next month, which would be a little bit different than how you are right now? How about next year? The year after?
Write these belief-changers down- don’t plan how to get there, but instead how it would look if you got there. You see, you change who you are by planting the beliefs of what you want to be in the future. Try it and see what happens.
