Positive Mental Attitude and Risk

Recent Articles
By Step Jones, June 20, 2004

Norman Vincent Peale was one of the most positive people in the world.

If you haven’t read his “Power of Positive Thinking,” it is a must.  He had faith that was unshakable, along with a great attitude.  But the power of positive thinking is not in the “I am happy,” and the “Everything is going to be okay,” but in the ability to look at risk, and see that risk can be OK.

The person that has a positive attitude can look into the future and take risk; the person with a negative attitude cannot see the future well and does not take risk.  Often the person with a negative attitude stays where they are, never moving. And what is the point of life if you are to never move, simply staying in one place?

I don’t mean that a positive person just goes out and “takes flyers” on whatever idea comes to mind (Well, maybe once in a while), but instead that he or she can look at risk as a positive thing; change as a positive thing; life as a positive thing; and move forward with life rather than staying in one place forever.

Today is Father’s Day 2004, and I am about to risk everything I have on the assumption that I can make a difference in people’s lives.  If I fail it will be OK. But you see I will not fail, because not only do I have faith, but many people around me have faith in me.

This is a big responsibility, to start a business - to have people rely on me for their livelihoods.  What is your purpose in life? At some time in your life are you not ready to move forward, and challenge yourself?  People with positive mental attitudes can and will take risk when it is time.

When that time comes you have a plan and put the plan together.  Life Motivations is a lifestyle job: it is changing all of our lives.  Earl Nightingale said that two people out of 50 will be fiscally capable when they reach retirement age.

Today in America there are 300 million people, and 2.7 million of them are wealthy.  What defines wealthy, according to Merrill Lynch, is having a million dollars in assets, besides your home.  So in America there are 2.7 million millionaires, or almost 8% of the population.  This is almost the same percentage Earl Nightingale found to be true in the 1950’s.  With all of today’s education, the Internet, and other sources of information how can this number be almost the same?  Because it’s that small a percentage of the population that’s willing to get their attitude turned positive, their plans detailed, and take the appropriate risk to make change possible.

We can share with you these secrets, that have been updated and applied by us to make our own success.  We take choices and put them in front of you so you can examine what your plan is going be and then measure your success.  You can do it, and we look forward to helping you be successful.
