A Little Coaching Can Make a Big Difference
by Step Jones
“Re: your article on being a Free Spirit...I didn’t realize our great country was founded less than 20 years ago...1976?
We’ve sure gotten a lot accomplished since then...No wonder Bush thinks we can set up a democracy in Iraq in a matter of months....
See, now that you’re not on the Board, I can be a real wise ass...
But I love you and am just joking around...Keep the good news coming...”
Well, I got several e-mails like this from last week’s article that had a misprint.
Guess I could use a proofreader coach. As many of us get older and work in new professions, we need different coaches in our life.
My wife employs a life coach named Jessica, and she and Jessica meet a few times a week to go over how to be healthy and stay in shape.
As we live longer, do more things and have more choices in life we can have many coaches. And you know what? If you need help in a part of your life, why not get some help?
My New York publicist, Judy, sent me a problem with a woman who felt it was a sign of weakness to ask for help. Well, she probably needs some professional help before coaching. My sister would say, “Buck up and get it done.” Our weaknesses are generally fears from outside our comfort zone. A coach would simply put the person into the situation until they feel comfortable, moving the present into the future, whereas a therapist would need to find the past cause of this feeling and expose it.
And I am still reeling from the e-mails, “What are you stupid?”
No, just need a little coaching.
Change Your Self-Image and Have More Success
by Step Jones
It is that time of year again; break out the New Year’s Resolutions. Let’s get some down that this year we will make and keep.
Not a chance. It won’t happen - you are drinking the Kool-Aid. If you waited until now to make a resolution that will magically happen on the 1st or 2nd, give it up. Shut it down. Until you see yourself being what you want, it won’t happen.
Who wants to be told what to do? So instead you tell yourself what to do, and then you tell yourself that you can call yourself on it when you don’t keep your resolutions. Who is going to give you any lip?
It is time to get back to the Four Dynamics and change your image of yourself. When your image changes, then things will start to change in your life.
You are not a loser, you just think like you’re a loser from time to time, and change is possible - get a coach.
The Weekly Challenge
Do you have a lot of energy in your life? Why or why not? If you like what you do, then you have a lot of energy. If you don’t like what you do, you feel tired all of the time. Well I just can’t quit my job. No, but you can make it fun again if you want. I just can’t quit my marriage. Why not? 66% of us do in Southern California. Why aren’t we happy? If something is really that bad then find a new job or get out of a bad relationship, but if you think about it you may be able to put that spark back into your life just by thinking love instead of hate. Who cares if they leave the top of the toothpaste off and big gobs are all over the sink- clean it up, and get over it.

The Sales Tip of the Week
To make more money in any industry you must be willing to do the things that other people won’t. Do the things the average person doesn’t, and you become above average. Your degree of success is always going to be up to what you decide you are going to do or not. What are you waiting for?
